SYMPTOMS

Under Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server stress testing that lasts for an extended period of time, or under similar deployment conditions where there is a continuous and high amount of traffic (TCP or UDP) that utilizes the Secure-NAT functionality of ISA Server, the ISA Server computer may appear to stop responding (hang). When this occurs, the Firewall service may show 100 percent CPU utilization, you may receive an access violation error message in the Firewall service, or you may receive an error message on a blue screen.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in ISA Server 2000 SP1.
