The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

This article was previously published under Q313218

SYMPTOMS

You have the Active Directory Connector (ADC) Connection Agreement set up to replicate the mailbox-enabled objects from a particular Active Directory organizational unit. When replication occurs, the organizational unit subcontainers also replicate over to the Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 directory as additional Exchange Recipients containers.

You may not want to have additional Recipients containers replicated to the Exchange Server 5.5 directory.

RESOLUTION

To change this behavior:
  • Add all the organizational unit subcontainers to the Windows Organizational Units field on the From Windows tab of the Active Directory Connector Connection Agreement.

    -or-
  • For any Exchange 2000 server that is installed in the Exchange organization, click to select the Create objects in location specified by Exchange 5.5 DN check box on the From Windows tab of the Active Directory Connector Connection Agreement. 313212 XADM: Mailboxes Do Not Replicate from Active Directory to Exchange Server 5.5

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

When you add the additional organizational unit subcontainers to the ADC Connection Agreement, you force the ADC to replicate the information from those organizational unit subcontainers without replicating the containers themselves.

When you select the Create objects in location specified by Exchange 5.5 DN check box on the From Windows tab of the Active Directory Connector Connection Agreement, you force the ADC to create the mailbox objects based on the LegacyExchangeDN attribute. This prevents the Connection Agreement from replicating the organizational unit subcontainers.
