PRB: Iissync.exe Not Supported in IIS 6.0 (313098)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use Iissync.exe to synchronize Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 servers that have been clustered by using the Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) service, you may receive the following error message:
Error replicating to target xx.x.xx.xx : The parameter is incorrect. error code 87 ( 00000057 )
At least one target computer was not replicated successfully

CAUSE

Iissync.exe is no longer supported in IIS 6.0.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use the following command to synchronize IIS 6.0 clusters:

%SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32\cscript.exe iiscnfg.vbs /copy

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

Iiscnfg.vbs replaces the Iissync.exe functionality. For more information about how to use the Iiscnfg.vbs utility, and a list of parameters to use, run the following command:
