BUG: French Database Maintenance Logs Contain Incorrect Characters (312909)

SYMPTOMS

If you run a French localized version of SQL Server on a French version of Microsoft Windows, the Database Maintenance Plan Wizard generates logs that contain incorrect or invalid characters.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you can try to view the logs by using a command-based editor like Edit or use the TYPE [drive:][path]filename operating system utility.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
