BUG: "Unspecified Error" Is Returned in BizTalk Server Messaging Manager (312740)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Search Now in BizTalk Server Messaging Manager, you receive the following error message:
Unspecified Error

CAUSE

This error can occur if the Microsoft BizTalk Server computer that you specify in the Name of BizTalk Server to connect to box cannot connect to the Microsoft SQL Server database that hosts the Microsoft BizTalk Server Management database or if the Microsoft SQL Server computer that hosts this database is stopped or in a paused state.

RESOLUTION

Ensure that the SQL Server computer that hosts the BizTalk Server Management database is started and that the BizTalk Server computer has connectivity to this database.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002.
