PRB: BizTalk Server Tutorial Sends Responses to Console When You Use Terminal Services (312687)

When you run the ExecuteTutorial.exe file that is included with the BizTalk Server 2002 tutorial, the scripting components should generate pop-up messages in the tutorial's schedule. However, if you run ExecuteTutorial.exe from a Terminal Services session, you receive none of these pop-up messages. Instead, the messages appear in the local console.
CAUSE
The orchestration schedule that comes with the BizTalk Server 2002 tutorial uses a Microsoft Windows scripting component to send messages to the user. The scripting component uses the message box function to display information. However, this problem occurs because the message box function can only display the messages to the local console.
RESOLUTION
If you are running the BizTalk tutorial through a Terminal Services session, modify the PORequestApproval.wsc file so that it writes the output to a file instead of using the message box function.
STATUSThis behavior is by design.
