FIX: Errors in Data Warehouse and Analytics After You Upgrade to Commerce Server 2000 SP2 (312506)

You may encounter various problems in Data Warehousing and Analytics. These problems only occur if the Sp2setup.exe file is version 1.0.0.1. The Sp2setup.exe file is located in the following folder:
Commerce_Server_Root\Update\CSUninstallSP2\

CAUSE
These problems occur in the SQL code that upgrades to version 1.0.0.1 of Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
RESOLUTIONA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next version of Commerce 2000 service pack that contains this hotfix. To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. After you install the hotfix, follow these steps to resolve this problem:
- Back up your Data Warehouse Microsoft SQL Server and On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) databases.
- From the Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft SQL Server, and then click Query Analyzer.
- In the Connect to SQL Server dialog box, in the drop-down list, select the SQL Server with which you want to connect. In the Connect using section, type the required authentication information, and then click OK.
- In SQL Query Analyzer, on the File menu, click Open, and then browse to the following folder:
Server_Name\Program Files\Microsoft Commerce Server
- Click Undocs2ksp2.sql, and then click Open.
- On the SQL Query Analyzer toolbar, in the Database drop-down list, select the data warehouse database for the site that you are running the uninstall script.
- On the Query menu, click Execute. Notice that the uninstall script runs and several caution messages appear in the Messages window.
- After the uninstall script completes, close SQL Query Analyzer.
- Run the Sp_analysis_upgrade.exe tool (which is located in the Commerce Server root directory).
- Verify that there are no errors in the following file:
Commerce_Server_Root\SP2\Backup\Cs2ksp2_sitename_upgrade.log
- Set the appropriate permissions for the mscsDateIntersect cube and mscsVisit virtual cube.For additional information, click the article number below
