SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to install an Epson Stylus 740 printer, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
The specified printer cannot be installed.
This problem can occur in the following situation:
- You connect the Epson printer to the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on the computer.
-and-
- You run the Setup.exe command from the Epson compact disc or you attempt to install printer drivers other than those that are on the Epson compact disc.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, install the Epson Stylus 740 printer drivers from the Epson compact disc and use the procedure that is provided by Epson at the following Web site:
