SYMPTOMS

When you use Internet Explorer version 5 for Macintosh to browse the Web, you may be unable to browse certain Web sites that use Java.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Internet Explorer 5.0 for Macintosh is installed on your computer but MRJLib 2.2.5 is not installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, download and install MRJLib 2.2.5 from the following Apple Web site: If this issue is not resolved after you install MRJLib 2.2.5, follow these steps:
  1. Quit Internet Explorer 5.0.
  2. In Windows Explorer, open your computer's hard disk, and then open the System folder.
  3. Open the Preferences folder, and then drag the Embedding Preferences and PPC Registration Database files to the desktop.
  4. Start Internet Explorer 5.0, and then go to the Web site that you were unable to browse.
  5. If this resolves the issue, drag the Embedding Preferences and PPC Registration Database files on the desktop to the Trash.
