SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft Outlook, you may receive the following error message:
Unable to open default mail folders. MAPI was unable to load the Gwmspi.dll.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Mail profile contains services for Novell GroupWise, but Outlook is unable to connect to this resource.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, create an Outlook profile that does not include any services for Novell GroupWise.
