Error Message: No Administerable Services Found (312306)

This article was previously published under Q312306 SYMPTOMS When you right-click My Computer, click Manage, and then click Services and Applications, you may receive the following error message:
No administerable services found
Note In this error message, the word "administerable" is a misspelling for the word "administrable." CAUSE This problem may occur because when you install the server
tools on a Windows 2000 Professional-based computer, the Internet Information
Services (IIS) snap-in is selected (by default), but the IIS snap-in
configuration does not finish. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem:
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
- Click Add\Remove Windows Components, and then click Internet Information Services.
- Click Details, and then click to clear the Internet Information Services Snap-in check box.
