When you use a PostScript printer to print a document that contains various vector-based images, such as Windows Metafile (WMF), Enhanced Metafile (EMF), and Macintosh PICT format (PICT) files, some of these images are printed with unwanted lines that connect various elements of the images to each other.
This behavior also occurs if you copy and paste WordArt objects as pictures into the document.
CAUSE
This behavior is usually associated with clip art that renders an image by using a single line, or with text that was converted into curves. The lines are usually invisible and are set to No Line. When the images are printed, the PostScript printer driver assigns the lines a color, and they become visible and are printed.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
