MacWDX: Word Quits Unexpectedly When the You Use the "Repeat Delete Rows" Command (312210)

SYMPTOMS

When you delete rows in a table by using the Repeat Delete Rows command on the Edit menu, Microsoft Word X for Mac may quit unexpectedly.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if all of the following conditions are true:
  • You select two or more rows in a table.

    -and-
  • You delete the selected rows by pointing to Rows on the Table menu and then clicking Delete.

    -and-
  • You delete subsequent rows by clicking the Repeat Delete Rows command on the Edit menu.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, do not use the Repeat Delete Rows command on the Edit menu when you delete rows in a table.

Instead, follow these steps to delete rows in a table:
  1. Select the rows that you want to delete.
  2. On the Table menu, point to Rows, and then click Delete.
  3. Repeat as necessary.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
