SUMMARY

When two postings in one channel have the same name, Content Management Server (CMS) 2001 only serves one of the postings when you enter its hierarchical URL in the address bar of your browser.

MORE INFORMATION

CMS 2001 allows you give the same name to two or more postings in the same channel. This differs from a regular site, in which the file system does not allow you to give two files the same name.

In CMS 2001, the newest of the postings in the channel is served when you make a request for the posting by typing its hierarchical URL in the address bar of your browser. You can only access the second (older) posting with the same name from the channel navigation links or by entering the globally unique identifier (GUID) URL for the posting. It is therefore better to give each posting in a channel a distinct name, as is the practice on a regular site.
