SYMPTOMS

If you create several custom print forms on a print server and use a custom form for default printing, the form that is used for default printing may not be the form that you expect if you change a form parameter.

CAUSE

User forms are saved in the following registry entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Forms

When you create a new form, the values are:

Size: 40 0D 03 00 18 61 04 00
ImageableArea: 64 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 40 0D 03 00 18 61 04 00
cFormOrder: 01 00 00 00
Flags: 00 00 00 00

After you change a parameter, the values are:

Size: A4 0D 03 00 7C 61 04 00
ImageableArea: 64 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 A4 0D 03 00 7C 61 04 00
cFormOrder: 9E A3 00 01 <-- incorrect data
Flags: 00 00 00 00

Note that the cFormOrder value is incorrect after you modify a form.
