SYMPTOMS

If you have configured the Channel screen saver with multiple screen saver channels selected and a time delay to switch between the channels, the screen saver may not switch away from certain channels.

CAUSE

The Channel screen saver starts the timer for a particular channel after the document has been completely loaded. If the page in the channel reloads another page, the Onload event is triggered again and the timer is reset. If pages continue to be loaded before the configured timer interval elapses, the timer never elapses and the screen saver does not switch to the next channel.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, do not use Web page channels that continue to load other pages in a screen saver .

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

Resetting the screen saver timer when a document is loaded allows the channel to account for redirects and pages that load slowly.
