XCCC: Your Log On Access Is Denied When You Use the Forward Slash (/) Character In the Username Box (310453)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Web Scheduler feature and you try to log on as an authenticated user by typing your user name in the form of domainname/username, instead of the typical form of domainname\username, you may receive the following error message:

The Exchange Conferencing Service encountered a server error.
Please try the following:

Contact your system administrator.
Session variables Error #80070005: Problems initializing session variables(OK, 0, 0, 0, 0)
Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server

CAUSE

This problem can occur because, by design, Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server only accepts the backlash (\) character as a separator.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, type a backslash (\) character to separate the domain name and user name.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server.
