MacWD: Vertical and Horizontal Scroll Bars Are Missing When You Start Word (310095)

SYMPTOMS

When you start the Word program, the vertical and horizontal scroll bars may not appear.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Horizontal scroll bar and Vertical scroll bar check boxes under Preferences are not selected.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, make sure that the Horizontal scroll bar and Vertical scroll bar check boxes are selected. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In Word 98, click Preferences on the Tools menu.

    or

    In Word 2001, click Preferences on the Edit menu.
  2. Click the View tab.
  3. Click to select the Horizontal scroll bar and the Vertical scroll bar check boxes, and then click OK.
