Picture It! 2002: Error Message: Page Cannot Be Displayed (308586)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to save an image in any of the programs that are listed at the beginning of this article on a Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition-based computer, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Page cannot be displayed.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if you do not have the most recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the most recent version of Internet Explorer.

Part 1: Check the Version of Internet Explorer

To check the version of Internet Explorer that you have:
  1. Start Internet Explorer.

    Note You do not have to connect to the Internet to do this.
  2. On the Help menu, click About Internet Explorer.
  3. In the About Internet Explorer dialog box, note the version number that is listed. If the version number is 5.50.4134.0100 or earlier, update to the most recent version of Internet Explorer.
  4. Click OK to close the About Internet Explorer dialog box.

Part 2: Install the Most Recent Version of Internet Explorer

Method 1: Install Internet Explorer from the Picture It! CD-ROM

To install the most recent version of Internet Explorer from the Picture It! CD-ROM:
  1. Press and hold SHIFT, and then insert the Picture It! installation CD-ROM.
  2. Click Start, and then click Run.
  3. In the Open box, type the following:

    CD-ROM drive:\PIP\Redist\IE5\ie5setup.exe

    where CD-ROM Drive is the drive letter of your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

Method 2: Download and Install the Most Recent Version of Internet Explorer

To download and install the most recent version of Internet Explorer from the Internet:
  1. Connect to the Internet, and then visit the following Microsoft Web site:
  2. Click Download Now to download the most recent version of Internet Explorer.
  3. When you are prompted to open or save the file, click Open.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
