MORE INFORMATION

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
  2. Locate the RegisterTcp value under the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\KePcnfsd\Parameters

  3. On the Edit menu, type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.

NOTE: The default value for the RegisterTcp value is 0.
  4. Quit Registry Editor.
After you change the RegisterTcp value, run the following commands to stop and restart the Server for PCNFS service:
  • net stop kepcnfsd
  • net start pcnfsd
KEPCNFSD is the kernel mode component of the Server for PCNFS service. It is not stopped when you stop Server for PCNFS. However, if you stop KEPCNFSD, Server for PCNFS also stops. If you start Server for PCNFSD, both services start.
