Override Global Transaction Timeout Value Is Ignored for QC Component (307861)

SYMPTOMS

When you select the Override global transaction timeout value check box at component level, if the component is a Queued Component (QC) component, the global transaction timeout value is not overridden. The global transaction timeout value is still set at the My Computer node in Component Services.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create a simple QC component in Microsoft Visual Basic or Microsoft Visual C++.
  2. Install the QC component as part of a QC COM+ application.
  3. Mark the component queued.
  4. Select the Override global transaction timeout value check box, and then specify values other than the global value.
  5. Call the component. Notice that the component times out. In addition, the call to component may be tried again repeatedly.
