Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) devices are responsible for beginning and ending a session with the WAP gateway. The WAP gateway communicates with the Mobile Information Server computer. Each device and gateway differs in terms of the length of time that credentials are cached on the device, and, therefore, a Log off option would produce different results on different devices. For this reason, the method used to end the session is left to the device and gateway manufacturers.
