PRB: Cannot Connect Through Analysis Manager Although a Member of Administrator Group (307365)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to connect through Analysis Manager, the following error message is displayed even though you are a member of the OLAP Administrators security group:
Unable to connect to the registry on the server (SERVERNAME), or you are not a member of the OLAP Administrators group this server.

RESOLUTION

To run SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services on Windows XP Professional, you need SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later. For additional information, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
