AutoPlay Does Not Automatically Start a Program to Play QuickTime Movie Files (307142)

SYMPTOMS

When you insert a CompactFlash card or a SmartMedia card into its card reader, and the media card has only a QuickTime movie file (.mov) on it, the AutoPlay feature may not automatically start the appropriate program.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because Windows XP does not include a program that supports QuickTime movie files.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, use the Folder view to browse to and open the QuickTime movie file.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
