MMC displays the duplicate of a volume created on a Windows 2000-based computer (307120)

When you use Microsoft Management Console (MMC) on a computer that has an Intel Itanium microprocessor to create a new volume on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer, MMC may display a duplicate of the new volume in the Icon view. The List view is normal, and the new volume is successfully created.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, restart MMC.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
