This article describes how to change the registered file type for a .jpg file.

Installing an Olympus digital camera may alter the default file association type for .jpg files. When you try to open a .jpg file, you may receive the following error message:
Ordinal 2173 could not be located in the dynamic link library MFC30.dll.

Modifying the JPG File's Association

  1. On the desktop, double-click My Computer.
  2. Click Tools, and then click Folder Options.
  3. On the File Types tab, under Registered file types, scroll down and then click the JPG file type.
  4. Click Change, click Imaging, and then click OK.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for file types JPE and JPEG. After modifications are complete, click Close.
