The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

This article was previously published under Q306669

SUMMARY

When you receive a message from the Internet, the page layout for the message defaults to Letter if you are using Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor.

MORE INFORMATION

When you use a Microsoft Exchange Server to send messages in an organization, the page layout is determined by the sender. If the originator has a page layout of A4, then the recipient receives the message in an A4 page layout. However, if you send a message to a recipient in another organization through the Internet, the page layout information is not added to the message. The message delivered to the recipient does not contain any page layout information, and the message defaults to a Letter page layout as per the Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format (RTF) specifications.
