SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later, text in the right pane of Windows Help may appear blurred or fragmented. Because of this, you may not be able read the contents of the right pane of Windows Help.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Web page text in Internet Explorer is set to display in the smallest text size. When you change the text size setting in Internet Explorer, the change also affects the size of text that is displayed in Windows Help. If the text size in Internet Explorer is set to the Smallest setting, the text in the right pane of Windows Help may appear blurred or fragmented.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the Text Size setting in Internet Explorer to display Web page text in a larger size than your current setting. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Quit Windows Help.
  2. Start Internet Explorer.
  3. Point to Text Size on the View menu, and then click the text size that you want. For example, click Medium if you want text to display in this size.
  4. Quit Internet Explorer.
  5. On the Start menu, click Help.

Verify that you are able to view and read the text correctly in Windows Help.
