The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP1
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP2
- Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000
This article was previously published under Q305490 SYMPTOMS
The taskbar icon for the firewall client for Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server may change from displaying a green circle to a red circle.
CAUSE
The firewall client checks the firewall every 10 minutes. If the client does not receive a response in a timely manner, it assumes that the firewall is offline. Under these circumstances, a red circle is displayed on the firewall icon. If you click the firewall icon and then click Update Now, this action overrides the 10-minute interval.
If this behavior occurs frequently, it usually indicates that a network problem is causing latency issues.
STATUSThis behavior is by design.
