Manually Created Intersite Connection Objects Do Not Inherit Replication Schedule from Site Link (305179)

SUMMARY

When you manually create an intersite connection object in Active Directory Sites and Services for replication, the connection object does not inherit the replication schedule of the Site Link object that contains the sites of the upstream and downstream replication partners. This schedule must be set manually on the Properties page of the connection object.

By default, the schedule for a manually created connection object is four times per hour, every hour, every day. This behavior is different from that of intersite connections created by the Knowledge Consistency Checker. These automatically generated connections between bridgehead servers inherit the schedule set on the Site Link object.

To change the replication schedule on a manually created connection object, follow these steps:

Locate the connection object in the Active Directory Sites and Services snap-in.
Right-click the connection, and then click Properties.
On the Active Directory connection tab, click Change Schedule.
Manually set the replication schedule as appropriate.
