When you click Start, click Shutdown, and then click Suspend or Hibernate, your Windows Millennium Edition-based computer may not suspend or hibernate until as much as 30 seconds has passed.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if an unsaved file is open when you try to place your computer into Suspend or Hibernate mode.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, save any open files before you try to place your computer into Suspend or Hibernate mode.
