SUMMARY

This article shows you how to create a PivotChart view that displays detail data instead of summarized data. By default, when you drag fields to the data fields area, the PivotChart view of an object displays summarized data. Sometimes, however, you may want to have the PivotChart view display actual detail records instead of summarizing them. For an example of how to do so, follow these steps:
  1. Open the object in PivotChart view.
  2. On the View menu, click Properties.
  3. On the General tab of the Properties dialog box, set the Select box to Chart Workspace.
  4. On the Data Details tab, select the Plot detail records check box. If you have already dragged fields to the PivotChart list, you will receive a message that the PivotChart layout will be cleared in order to continue. Click Yes.
  5. If you have not yet dragged fields to the data area of the PivotChart list, drag the fields to the data area.
