SYMPTOMS

When you try to import a Microsoft Office document (.doc format, in this example) into a Microsoft CMS 2001 resource gallery, you may receive the following error message:

CAUSE

The error may stem from having an orphaned temporary file (uptemp0.doc, in this example) in the Temp folder. The temp file's permissions do not allow the Web server to overwrite it. This error occurs only if the uploaded file shares the same extension as the Temp folder file.

RESOLUTION

Delete the orphaned file. Then, you will be able to import Office documents into the resource gallery again.
