Virtual Directory Outside of CMS 2001 Has Problems Resolving If Its Name Matches a Resolution Sub Channel Name (302057)

When a request comes in to the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) server on which CMS is installed, IIS allows Content Management Server (CMS) to attempt to find a match for the URL in the CMS 2001 database. CMS 2001 owns its root channel and its child channel names. For example, if you have a URL that contains your server name/some name, and some name matches the name of a CMS 2001 channel that appears immediately below the root channel, IIS attempts to resolve the URL to a CMS 2001 virtual directory.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, do either of the following:
- Rename or delete the CMS 2001 channel.
- Delete or rename the corresponding virutal directory.
