SYMPTOMS

Portable computers that are equipped with a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive may not eject properly from a docking station while running Windows Media Player 7.1.

CAUSE

The Adaptec cdralw2k.sys driver, which is distributed with Windows Media Player 7.1, does not respond properly to the power state change event that is signaled when a portable computer is ejected.

WORKAROUND

The cdralw2k.sys driver that is included with Adaptec Easy CD Creator version 4.02 does not experience this problem.
