FIX: Error Message: "ICE03 Invalid template string" Reported by MSIVal2 (301627)

SYMPTOMS

When you run MSIVal2 by using Darice12.cub on the Sqlrun01.msi file (Sqlrun01.msi is provided with SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine, Traditional Chinese Version), an error message may occur. For example, if you execute this command in the DOS window:

MSIVal2 sqlrun01.msi Darice.cub

This error message may occur:
ICE03 ERROR Invalid template string
In addition to the error message, you may also see the following result:

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (Traditional Chinese Version). This problem was first corrected in SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (Traditional Chinese Version) Service Pack 1.

MSIVal2 is a tool that you can use to validate the internal consistency of an MSI package. MSIVal2 is provided with Microsoft Windows Installer Software Development Kit (SDK). The .cub file, Darice.cub, is also provided with the SDK. Darice.cub contains the Internal Consistency Evaluators (ICE) custom actions needed by the Msival2.exe file to perform validation.
