PRB: Event ID: 45057 "No Rows in Source Data" Occurs When You Apply Commerce Server 2000 SP1 (301580)

SYMPTOMS

The Data Transformation Services (DTS) Prepare Report task may generate an EventID: 45057 "No Rows in Source Data" error after you install Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

CAUSE

A "No Rows in Source Data" error message is returned by Analysis Services when an object is processed, and the underlying object in SQL Server contains no rows.

The Commerce Server 2000 SP1 version of the Report Preparation task is able to handle cube processing errors that the Commerce Server 2000 RTM version can not. Because the error code returned for "No Rows in Source Data" by Analysis Server 2000 is a generic error that covers many error conditions, the Report Preparation task cannot identify and safely ignore the error.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, do the following:
  • Remove any cubes or dimensions from the OLAP database for which there is no data in the underlying fact or dimension tables.
  • Remove any references to the deleted cubes from the CubeProcInfo table located in the SQL Server Commerce Server Data Warehouse.
