SYMPTOMS

In Outlook Mobile Manager, if you click My Email, and then click Rules, you can select rule criteria to forward certain messages to your mobile device. When you select these criteria, you create a rule that is applied to your Inbox messages. If you start the Rules Wizard in Microsoft Outlook, these new rules are displayed as MOMM Rule 1, MOMM Rule 2, and so on.

After you select rules in Outlook Mobile Manager, the rules may not be displayed in the Rules Wizard in Outlook. If you close and restart the Rules Wizard or Outlook, you may receive the following error message:
The rules on this machine do not match the rules on your Exchange Server. Only one set of rules can be kept. You will usually want to keep the rules on the server.
Which rules do you want to keep?

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the rules are corrupted, or if the Rules Wizard is open in the background when you select the rules to implement in Outlook Mobile Manager.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, make sure that the Rules Wizard is closed when you select new rules in Outlook Mobile Manager. If this problem persists and you suspect that the rules might be corrupted, you might want to delete the rules or clean them from your mailbox.
