FP98: FrontPaqe 97 Hit Counter Does Not Work (301090)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft FrontPage 97 to create or edit a hit counter on a Web page, the changes may not appear on the Web page when the Web page is published or updated.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you use the FrontPage 97 hit counter, and the server that you publish your Web page to uses the Microsoft FrontPage 98 (or later) server extensions. The FrontPage 97 hit counter does not work with the FrontPage 98 (or later) extensions.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, create or edit the counter on a computer that has FrontPage 98 installed, or ask the administrators of the server on which you are publishing your Web page to install the FrontPage 97 server extensions.
