XFOR: Event ID 1053 May Result from a Migration from cc:Mail to Exchange 2000 (301034)

SYMPTOMS

When you migrate a personal address book (PAB) that contains names with spaces in the last name (for example, "Van Dam, Tanya") from Lotus cc:Mail, an error message that is similar to the following may be logged in the Application event log:

Event ID: 1053
Description: unable to add Tanya Van Dam to PAB for user migrated user the address could not be located in the cc:Mail post office.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the Migration Wizard changes the name to a "First Last" representation and is unable to distinguish a two-word last name.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2.
