Cannot See the Word "Start" on the Start Button (300913)

SYMPTOMS

When you view the Start button, you may be unable to see some or all of the word "Start."

CAUSE

This problem can occur after you resize the taskbar to a point where the word "Start" is too large to completely fit on the Start button. Note that this problem is more likely to occur if you are using large fonts.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, increase the size of the taskbar and the Start button, or move the taskbar to a different side of the screen. To resize the taskbar, move your pointer over the edge of the taskbar or Start button until the pointer turns into a line with a double arrow, and then drag the taskbar to resize it.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
