SYMPTOMS

COM+ does not allow you to call COMAdminCatalog object operations inside a DllRegisterServer function. These operations cause COM+ installation to stop responding (hang) because all the Import or Install methods of the COMAdminCatalog object can invoke DllRegisterServer.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
