An Error Message May Be Displayed When You Use Either the "Back" or "Forward" Buttons (300661)

SYMPTOMS

When you use either the Back or Forward buttons on the Internet Explorer tool bar to locate a previously viewed Web page, you may receive either of the following error messages:
Iexplore.exe Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x77e2f4c7

-or-

Iexplore.exe - Program Error:
The instruction at "0x01d77298" referenced memory at "0x00000019". The memory could not be read.
NOTE: The exact memory locations may vary from computer to computer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you use either the Back or Forward buttons to display previously viewed pages. However, this behavior does not occur when you use the other navigation links that are located on the page.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5. The Internet Explorer 5.5 Mshtml cache code has been completely rewritten so that this behavior does not occur.
