XCCC: Set Up Mobile Information Server on an Exchange 2000 Cluster (300632)

1. Log on to one of the Exchange 2000 nodes.
2. In Windows Explorer, create a folder on each of the shared disk resources, and then copy the Mobile Information Server Event Source files) to the new folder (these files are located in C:\Program Files\MMIS\Airweb on the Exchange 2000 server.
3. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Services Manager.
4. Expand the server on which the Exchange Event Source is installed.
5. After you have created an Exchange 2000 cluster, the names of its virtual servers appear in Internet Services Manager. For each Exchange 2000 virtual server Web site, you must create a virtual directory called Airweb. To do so, follow these steps:
   1. Right-click the server, click New, click Virtual Directory, and then click Next.
   2. In the Alias box, type airweb, and then click Next.
   3. Locate the copy of the MMIS folder that you created in step 2, click the folder, click OK, and then click Next.
   4. Click the following permissions, and then click Next:
      • Read
      • Run Scripts
      • Execute
      • Write
      • Browse
      
      
   5. Click Yes to confirm that you want to select both the Write permissions and the Execute permissions, and then click Finish.
   6. In the Internet Information Services console tree, expand the VirtualServerName Web site, right-click the Airweb virtual directory that you just created, and then click Properties.
   7. Click the Virtual Directory tab, and then click Configuration.
   8. In the Application Mappings box, click the entry in the list box that has the "*" (asterisk) extension, click Remove, and then click OK.
   9. Click the Documents tab, and then remove all entries except Default.asp.
   10. Click the Directory Security tab, click Edit for the Anonymous access and authentication control option.
       
       If you have to, click to clear the Anonymous access check box, and then make sure that the only check box that is selected under Authenticated access is Basic authentication.
   11. When you are notified that the authentication option that you have selected results in the transmission of passwords over the network without data encryption, click Yes, click OK, click Apply, and then click OK.
