ENT2001: You Receive an Unexpected Logon Prompt When You Open an Attachment from Share (300356)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open an attachment that you received in an Entourage 2001 message, you may receive a prompt for a user name and password.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the attachment was added to the message from a shared network volume that is now unavailable.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, use one of the following two methods to successfully open the attachment:
  • Click Cancel twice at the logon prompt to open the attachment.

    -or-

  • If the network volume is available on your network, enter your logon credentials to open the attachment.

MORE INFORMATION

If the attachment was inserted from a network volume location that is available on the network, you do not receive the logon prompt.
