Search That Has an Asterisk Wildcard Character Does Not Correctly Locate Rule That Has an Asterisk (300329)

When you search for a processing rule by using a search string that contains an asterisk (*) wildcard character, and the position of the asterisk in the search string is the same as the position of an asterisk in the rule you are looking for, along with some additional text, the search does not locate the rule.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) treats the asterisk in the search string as a literal character rather than as a wildcard character.

When you search by using a string that includes an asterisk wildcard character (for example, "ab*c"), you expect the search to locate text that has any characters between "ab" and "c" (for example, "abdc" or "ab*dc"). In the MOM search, however, using "ab*c" as a search string does not locate the "ab*dc" rule.
