Agent Computer That You Remove Appears in the "Pending Installation" List After the Next Scan (300321)

SYMPTOMS

After you remove an agent computer that you added by using a single-agent scan or by following the Help file instructions under "Scanning a Managed Computer," the name of the agent computer that you removed may appear in the Pending Installation list when you perform the next scan.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the agent computer name is still in the Manualmc.txt file.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, after you remove the agent, edit the Manualmc.txt file to remove the agent computer name. By default, the Manualmc.txt file is in the Program Files\Microsoft Operations Manager 2000\OnePoint folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
