Properties of Event-Processing Rule Seem to Show the Reverse of What You Configure (300299)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Operations Manager 2000
This article was previously published under Q300299 SYMPTOMS
When you create an event-processing rule to generate an action without generating any alert, the properties dialog box for the rule may display the rule's properties incorrectly.
On the Alert tab, the Generate Alert box is correctly cleared (not checked), and on the Responses tab, an action is correctly specified. However, the General tab may display the following description:
Generates an alert when a specified event occurs
This statement seems to indicate that the rule is configured to generate an alert but not to take any action.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATION
No workaround currently exists for this behavior. However, the rule correctly operates as you configured it.
