Error Message After You Install a Microsoft Reader (300107)

SYMPTOMS

After you install a Microsoft Reader, you may receive any of the following error messages:
Explorer caused an Invalid Page Fault in module Msvcrt.dll
Iexplore caused an Invalid Page Fault in module Msvcrt.dll
Vsmon caused an Invalid Page Fault in module wsock32.dll and kernel32.dll at 0187
Flydesk caused an Invalid Page Fault in module kernel32.dll and wsock32.dll at 0187
Realplay caused an Invalid Page Fault in module kernel32.dll and wsock32.dll at 0187

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you have the QuickClick FlyDesk software installed.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, remove the QuickClick FlyDesk software from your computer. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Select the QuickClick FlyDesk software, and then click Remove.
NOTE: You may need to restart your computer in Safe mode to remove the software. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Restart your computer. Press and hold down the CTRL key until you see the Windows 98 Startup menu, and then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only.
  2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  3. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  4. Select the QuickClick FlyDesk software, and then click Remove.
