Visio2002: Error Message: "Operation Failed Because Connection Point Display Is Turned Off" Adding Connection Points to Shape (299653)

SYMPTOMS
When you use the connection point tool to add a new connection point to a shape, you receive the following error message:
Operation failed because connection point display is turned off.
Select Connection Points in the view menu before attempting this action.
CAUSE
This error message occurs when the Connection Points feature is turned off.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this error message, click Connection Points on the View menu.
When Connection Points are viewable, you can add connection points to a shape by clicking the mouse in conjunction with the following:
- To add an Inward connection point, hold down CTRL and click on, inside, or outside the selected shape's boundaries.
- To add an Outward connection point, hold down CTRL+ALT and click on, inside, or outside the selected shape's boundaries.
- To add an Inward & Outward connection point, add an Inward or Outward connection point; right-click the connection point, and then click Inward & Outward.
